{"id":1305,"date":"2020-09-15T13:46:06","date_gmt":"2020-09-15T13:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/floorseal.com\/products\/mes100\/"},"modified":"2022-11-30T03:32:29","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T03:32:29","slug":"concrete-moisture-emission","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/floorseal.com\/products\/mes100","title":{"rendered":"MES 100"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1899&#8243; img_size=&#8221;350&#215;200&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>MES 100<\/strong> is a Floor Seal Technology, Inc. proprietary product that remediates concrete moisture emission up to any limit.\u00a0 It is installed by Factory Technicians to insure a complete warranty. <strong>The MES 100<\/strong> systems I-IV are incorporated with a 1\/8 cement underlayment.\u00a0 The cement is not required with carpet finishes.<\/p>\n<p>On existing concrete, the system, I-IV is chosen after <strong><em>ASTM F 710<\/em><\/strong> testing, which incorporate <strong><em>ASTM F 2170<\/em><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaprecision.com\/calcium-chloride-moisture-test-kits\/\"><strong><em>ASTM F 1869<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and <strong><em>pH.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On new concrete pours the system is specified along with the division 3 concrete placement requirements following ACI 302 R. This requires the proper vapor retarders and installation procedures. If the <strong><em>ACI 302 R Guide to Concrete Floor and Slab<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Construction<\/em><\/strong> is specified a System I will be used.\u00a0 If <strong><em>ACI 302 R<\/em><\/strong> is not followed, the system will be determined by additional ASTM testing.<\/p>\n<p>The process meets and incorporates all requirements of <strong><em>ASTM F 3010 Standard Practice for Two-Component Resin-Base Membrane forming Moisture Mitigations Systems for use under Resilient Floors.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This process requires bead blasting the slab to a CPS 4 profile for preparation.\u00a0 The membrane is placed at 10 mils. It must meet the required pH resistance and have a tensile adhesion to the slab of a minimum of 200 pounds. The membrane is followed with the 1\/8 cement layer to absorb the moisture from water-based LEED-required adhesives.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Warranty<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>No other Manufacturer warrants both the concrete moisture emission product and the<strong> installation.<\/strong> A warranty without installation included leaves the owner at the mercy of the two parties as to fault.\u00a0 The finger-pointing begins, and the owner is left to hire consultants and attorneys<strong>.
